About EFG Hermes Gold Fund
Hermes Gold Investment Fund is an open-ended investment fund designed to provide investors with indirect exposure to gold through investment certificates that can be subscribed to and redeemed. This allows investors to benefit from movements in gold prices without the need to physically purchase or store the precious metal.
Hermes Gold Investment Fund's strategy is based on direct investment in gold bullion purchased through specialized entities licensed by the regulator, provided that the gold has a minimum purity of 999.9. The fund invests in standard bullion sizes of 50 grams, 100 grams, 250 grams, 500 grams, and 1 kilogram.
The investment manager is also required to comply with specific investment limits, under which direct investments in gold may not exceed 95% of the fund’s net asset value and may not fall below 80% under normal market conditions. In addition, at least 5% of the fund’s assets must be allocated to short-term liquidity instruments such as bank deposits and treasury bills to support liquidity management and meet redemption requests.
