The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) indices measure the performance of different baskets of listed stocks. The main ones are EGX30 (largest 30 companies), EGX70 (next 70), EGX100 (both combined), and the Shariah index for compliant stocks.
EGX30 is the benchmark index of the Egyptian Exchange, holding the 30 largest companies by market cap and liquidity. It is the primary gauge of the Egyptian market.
The Egyptian Exchange Shariah index (known as EGX33 / EGX Shariah) holds Shariah-compliant stocks, screened by business activity and debt/non-compliant-revenue ratios.
