14K gold has the lowest purity among common calibers (only 58.5%), but it is the most durable and scratch-resistant. In Egypt, it is not very popular as consumers prefer higher-purity calibers, but it appears in some imported pieces and luxury watches. Its price is about 33% below 21K.
Because Egyptian consumers prefer higher calibers (21 and 18) as they retain more resale value. 14K loses about 10-15% of its value on resale beyond the purity gap.
