Connect FoudaLens to Claude and ChatGPT
Connect your FoudaLens account to Claude or ChatGPT through MCP (Model Context Protocol). The assistant can then answer from your own FoudaLens data and from Egyptian Exchange (EGX) market data, and record the changes you ask for: your watchlist, your alerts and your portfolio records.
Record-keeping only: FoudaLens executes no orders and moves no money. A trade you record is one you already made with your broker.
Availability is rolling out gradually. If connecting is not open for your account yet, the FoudaLens approval page will say so, or the app may fail to connect.
The connection URL
Paste this URL where Claude or ChatGPT asks for the connector or MCP server URL.

Menu names as of October 2026. Claude and ChatGPT rename their settings from time to time, so yours may differ slightly.
In Claude
- Open Claude (on the web or the desktop app) and go to Settings → Connectors.
- Choose Add custom connector, name it FoudaLens and paste the connection URL.
- Press Connect. A FoudaLens page opens: sign in to your FoudaLens account.
- Check the app's name and what it will be able to do, then approve. You are back in Claude, connected.
Claude's Free plan allows one custom connector. On Team and Enterprise plans, an owner may need to add the connector for the organization first.
In ChatGPT
- Developer mode needs a paid ChatGPT plan and works on the web, at chatgpt.com.
- Go to Settings → Apps → Advanced settings and turn on Developer mode.
- Choose Create app: name it FoudaLens, paste the connection URL and pick OAuth for authentication.
- Create the app. ChatGPT opens a FoudaLens page: sign in and approve.
ChatGPT warns that apps added in developer mode are not reviewed by OpenAI. That is expected for an app you add yourself.
What the assistant can do, by plan
What the assistant can do follows your plan, with the same plan gates as the website. This table lists the 64 tools the server can offer, built from the server's own list so it stays current; an admin can switch individual tools off.

Daily credits and other limits
Each request uses credits from a daily allowance that renews every day (Cairo time). Most requests cost 1 or 2 credits; the tool list above shows each one's cost. A request that fails on our side gets its credits back.

- Up to 30 requests a minute per account, across all its connected apps.
- Up to 60 different stocks an hour per account (a stock you already asked about that hour does not count again).
- Up to 2 connected apps at a time.
These are the current defaults and may change.
How fresh the data is
The assistant gets the same freshness your plan gets on the FoudaLens website. The four main index levels (EGX30, EGX70, EGX100 and the Shariah index) are live on every plan during the session. Stock prices are about 1 minute old on Free and Pro, and live on Premium. After the bell it uses the last traded prices until the official close is verified, then the settled session figures. Signals, zones, news, disclosures and corporate actions show as soon as they are saved; alerts, notifications and whale trades show within about a minute during the session. Your own records (watchlist, portfolio entries) are read as they are saved. FoudaLens can delay all exchange data for every plan by a set number of minutes if it ever needs to; answers then say how many.
If your plan changes, the connected app follows it within about a minute.
Safety and privacy
- Nothing connects without your approval: FoudaLens shows an approval page with the app's name before it gets any access.
- Disconnect any time from Settings → «Connected apps». Changing your password disconnects every app. Open Settings
- Deleting or replacing data (a portfolio, a position, a transaction, an alert) is final. Those tools are marked as final, so apps that support it (like Claude and ChatGPT) ask you to confirm before running them.
- Every change the assistant makes is logged on your account, and the latest ones show under each connected app in Settings.
- When you ask something, the company behind the app (Anthropic or OpenAI) receives the data needed for the answer and handles it under its own terms.

Frequently asked questions
Does connecting cost extra?
No. Connecting is part of your FoudaLens account and follows your plan. Claude or ChatGPT may need a plan of its own; ChatGPT's developer mode needs a paid one.
Can the assistant place trades for me?
No. FoudaLens executes no orders and moves no money. The assistant only keeps the records you ask for, like a trade you already made with your broker.
Can I connect both Claude and ChatGPT?
Yes, up to 2 apps at a time. Each one shows separately in Settings → «Connected apps».
Why did the assistant say a stock is not on my plan?
On Free, most stock tools cover the 30 stocks on the free list. There is also a limit of 60 different stocks an hour per account.
How do I disconnect?
Settings → «Connected apps» → Disconnect. Changing your password disconnects every app too.
