The EGX's flagship index, tracking the 30 largest companies by liquidity and market value.
The EGX30 is the Egyptian Exchange's most-watched index, made up of the 30 largest listed companies by market value and liquidity, weighted by free float. A rising index reflects broadly improving performance of the largest companies, and vice versa. It is used as a benchmark investors compare their portfolios against: if your portfolio gained less than the index, you underperformed the market. The exchange has other indices such as EGX70 and EGX100 for smaller companies, and the Sharia-compliant EGX33. FoudaLens shows indices live and compares your portfolio against them.
